The Puerto Rico Capital Fund was created in 1992 to expand the investment options available to the Bank and administer, separately from the GDB’s investment operations, the venture process through experienced, proven and professional equity asset managers.
The Capital Fund invests and trades in debts obligations and publicly traded shares of domestic and foreign corporations separate from the GDB’s general investment operations.
As of May 31, 2007, the Capital Fund had assets of $88.8 million, of which $65.6 million were invested in an equity index fund that invests mainly in growth, value, small cap and international stocks.
